Our First Time at a Chinese Tea Shop

We have bought and drank a lot of Chinese tea through the years, but we have never been to a tea tasting in a true Chinese tea shop before. Though not on the agenda, our guide took us to a local, small, hole-in-the-wall tea shop on our last day in Nanjing! Isn't it usually the case...the things you don't plan for end up being the best things of all!

We got to taste four different types of local teas and hear about each one of them. It was such a treat!! We bought some of the local tea, and would love to have you over for tea if you'd like!

This shop is owned by one person, and he runs it. He was a great host! We really enjoyed getting to know him.

Do you see the difference of the teas? The one on the left...the leaves lay at the bottom. The tea on the right, the leaves open up and float. That is the sign of the greater tea.

Luke still in on the action. I'm loving his little hand on my leg. :)

Thank you for a beautiful time!
